The Prince Islands(Turkish=Prens adaları, because the name means “Islands of the Princes”) officially “Adalar” is an archipelago off the coast of Istanbul, in the sea of Marmara. It has a population of 16.690(2022) people. It is by far the least populous district in Istanbul.

As we organize a trip to the prince islands every semester, it is a great trekking, biking and swimming spot of Istanbul. Even camping is a common activity in islands. Eventhough they are small islands(except Büyükada) it lasts a day to comprehensively visit there.

To get there, you need to take the ferry. From Maltepe, Avcılar, Eminönü-Karaköy, Kartal and Kabataş-Bostancı ferry stations, you can find a ferry to get there. But it is good to check the hours. Check this websites:

When you arrive to the islands, you will see the square. You can take the electrical busses, rent a bike or just walk(not recommended in Büyükada). There are museums, picnic areas, historical churchs, bufe-markets, restaurants and hostels in islands. It is still check the website of where you going to go, so be aware of what exist in spesifically that island. Even there are bufes in islands, you can buy some food and drink before go there. Just to be sure :)

Don’t forget to watch sunset when you are there or in the ferry.

Have a nice trip.
